holidaylettings, the best holiday apartment from Trip Advisor
It’s a rental service from Tripadvisor. As you would expect, this means that it often comes up with places that are pretty highly ranked on that site, and there is full integration. Before you make any bookings, you’ll be treated to a full selection of reviews from people just like you. What it has to offer beyond being slightly more convenient than another tab is something that did rather puzzle us, but then we remembered the filter option. It’s one that actually makes a huge difference, as you’ll soon see. It’s interesting to see more and more of the review sites branching out into actually offering the middleman services, as vica versa. This new trend would make things easier for everyone, but there needs to be some extra functionality to support it.
What really sets this site apart for us, as we mentioned, is the filtering. There are plenty of search options out there for renting holiday homes, so this one clearly needed something different. Being able to specify things in that search is always welcome, but again it’s mainly all been done. What is new though, is their approach to these filters. They’re able to show you hotels that suit your demographic, which is rather unique. You can select which group you’re in, and results will be filtered accordingly. So if you’re a couple, looking for a romantic break in London, the search results will show the results ranked according to Tripadvisor rankings, but with the added advantage of only showing the ones that you might be interested in. That kind of pseudo-bespoke service is something that could really change the industry, and we have to say that it’s something we definitely appreciated.
Average. Most of the listings seem to be fairly up to date, though there are some that are clearly a little dated. We looked up one we know had been renovated recently, and the promotional material was still rather old, certainly from before they had work done. Is it a big issue? Not really, but anyone that could find a way to ensure that all the information on their site is up to date and entirely accurate would do very well in this market.
Number of Houses
Over 5,000 in London. This is quite an impressive selection, and is more than enough for most people. There’s a broad range too, which is just essential. No matter what your budget is, you should easily be able to find something to suit you here.
Ease of Use
The site is as simple as you would expect from something that has clearly seen considerable investment. There can be little doubt that serious money has been poured into this project, which hopes to have the same success that its parent company now enjoys. Tripadvisor seem to be intent on building a brand, a portfolio of travel services. With every new addition, the ease of booking a holiday apartment increases. It’s already simple to book a flat in London, New York, or Tokyo, and before we know it that stress of picking out a holiday might be a thing of the past.
Holiday Lettings is a great way to find and rent the best places to stay when you’re abroad. It’s integration with Tripadvisor is much more than a gimmick, allowing you to create highly customised searches. Whilst it doesn’t necessarily offer anything that can’t be achieved now with work, it makes the entire process a lot more streamlined. For the convenience alone, it’s well worth a look.
