Addison Lee best London Business class car service
Their huge, worldwide brand. They’re the men in sharp black suits, delivering executive level service to each and every client. That’s the impression that their slick site and marketing tries to give off, and it is partly true. If you have an executive account with them, they are known to be highly helpful and pretty much faultless. Of course, they should be because you’re paying a serious premium for it. If you’re an ordinary person though that kind of service and reliability just isn’t there, despite them suggesting otherwise.
Very, very good. It’s a big name with serious cash, so you would expect them to have extensive infrastructure and they do. This is definitely a huge plus for them, and will always ensure that you’re able to catch a taxi, no matter where you are in the city. Sometimes this can work out to be hugely helpful not just in terms of time but with costs as well, as we will later cover. If there’s one thing that Addison Lee does very well, it’s making sure that their coverage is always stretching out to every part of the capital.
Ease of Use
Onsite booking and app based services make it pretty easy to get an Addison Lee taxi, and they still maintain non digital comms too.
It’s all looking good for this much respected firm so far.
And the positivity keeps on rolling. Price comparisons with other leading taxi firms showed us that they’re easily keeping a competitive rate. In fact, some of their prices were among the very best that we saw across the board. Very impressive, if expected due to the scale of the business. At this rate, you’re most likely expecting them to be getting a 4 or 5 star review, as they seem to be the classic example of a big business using all of its advantages to create a superior product that blows everyone else out of the water. There’s only 1 category to go, and it would have to be a stinker to bring them down at this point.
Which is exactly what their service is. Head to any review about them and you’ll see the complaints piling up. Late vehicles, rude drivers and just generally very poor service. We can say without doubt or hesitation that these are not isolated incidents. We’ve used Addison Lee several times, and the experience has often been a bit of a nightmare. Booking staff who were outright obnoxious and unhelpful because of simple requests and queries. Surly drivers who seemed like they wanted nothing more than to drive the damn cab into the Thames and be done with it all. Attempts to overcharge, reluctance to hand out refunds or provide any accountability. The list is damning and extensive. If you don’t have an executive account, it almost feels as if they consider you unimportant. There’s a sense of near contempt that seeps through to such an extent that we honestly found several of our rides to be deeply unpleasant experiences from the moment of booking until we reached our destination. In a city like London, where the very best service can often be found by those willing to look, that’s not good enough. It’s not even close.
Addison Lee does so many things right. It nails almost every aspect of being a multinational taxi service and then falls at the last hurdle, in such a spectacular manner that you have to wonder what on earth they’re thinking. If you can put up with it then go ahead and book with them: the value and coverage is great. If you like the human touch though, avoid, avoid, avoid.
